Synopsis "Influence of tire recyclate addition in concrete"
The purpose of this research is to analyze whether the addition of crushed tire increases the compressive strength of concrete with respect to a standard concrete f'c= 200kg/cm . In this research, several concrete mixes were designed, which were elaborated with CEMEX Type I Portland Cement, fine aggregate from the Cacalilao Veracruz bank and coarse aggregate from the El Abra bank, San Luis Potosi. Likewise, the crushed aggregate was obtained from recycled tires, which were collected from the premises of the public service workshops in Cd. The mix design for the standard concrete and the concrete added with shredded tire was carried out using the methodology described in ACI 211.1. The samples were composed of cylindrical concrete specimens with a 3% weight proportion of recycled tire with respect to the total volume of the materials. The physical and mechanical properties of the concrete were tested at 7, 14 and 28 days. Finally, the compressive strength obtained from the concrete added with crushed tire was analyzed.
