Synopsis "Intestinal Parasitosis and Anaemia in High Andean Children in Peru"

Parasitic infections and anemia is a transcendental public health problem in rural and high Andean areas of Peru; as a consequence, there are high rates of malnutrition, comorbidity for intestinal and respiratory infections in children. Consequently, the present study was conducted with the objective of evaluating anemia and parasitosis in children 6 to 60 months of age, attended in health facilities during the year 2015 to 2020. The study was descriptive - retrospective, basic type, the scientific method was applied, with a non-experimental design, to population and sample were composed of 1097 children. The results revealed that in the high Andean zones of Peru, mild anemia predominates in children, likewise this health problem does not differentiate in its affection to gender; in relation to age, it predominates from 6 to 12 months with mild and moderate anemia, a considerable percentage of intestinal parasitosis is evidenced. Thus, intestinal parasitosis is not necessarily a causative factor with greater predominance for anemia, there are other factors such as nutrition, basic sanitation, among other factors.
