Synopsis "It's Funny But It's True: A sailing life from Windermere to the Caribbean"

Dave and Colette Murray were newcomers to sailing and boating when they bought their first boat in 1986 and began sailing on Lake Windermere. They were absolute novices and had never been in a boat. After a few years, Dave wanted to put his newly learned skills to the test and sail in more challenging waters. This led to sailing holidays in Scotland, down south in the Solent, the English Channel and onward to the Mediterranean. Dave always dreamed of sailing across the Atlantic, but never thought he would be able to persuade his wife to go with him, but he did. This book tells true and amusing stories of their sailing life from early beginnings to ARC 2000, relating many of the highs and lows that are a way of life for the cruising yachtsman.
