Synopsis "Judge Not: That you be not judged"

While John 3:16 is the most widely recognized verse from the Bible. It is not the most often quoted verse in the Bible. That honor belongs to Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, that you be not judged." What is strange is John 3:16 is mostly just that; John 3:16. You see people holding up signs that simply say John 3:16. You rarely ever hear the actual verse being quoted (except in church, I hope), just where it is found. On the other hand; you hear "Judge not, that you be not judged;" without ever mentioning that it is found in Matthew 7:1. I believe most people quoting this verse are unaware of where it is in the Bible. This verse is usually quoted outside the church. I'm sure most Christians have heard this verse thrown out as soon as they point out the failing of a friend or family member. It's a common response, given even by those who know nothing else about the Bible. It's okay though, you're in good company. Moses was the first to hear "Who made thee a judge over us" (Exodus 2:14). We are all being judged by the Word of God daily. When we fail to keep God's laws and Christ's commandments, we are judged in that respect. When we honor God and keep His Word, we are also judged to be faithful. In this book we will look at the topic of judging. I will tell you now. There are things we are to judge, and things we are not to judge. The scriptures found in this book are from the Bible, not a law book. So, since this verse is quoted from the Bible, that is where we should look for the answers about "Judge not, that you be not judged."
