Die Abgrenzung des Konzepts der Gesundheit als menschlicher Prozess auf der Grundlage der Psychoneuroimmunologie und die Erforschung ihrer Ausdrucksformen ermöglicht es uns, die Bedingungen für eine bessere Gesundheit und erzieherische Aufmerksamkeit für die neuen Generationen zu optimieren. Unser erkenntnistheoretischer Ansatz zur Gesundheit basiert auf der Überzeugung, dass der Mensch eine duale Realität (Psyche - Soma) ist. Die argumentative Logik, die diesen Ansatz begleitet, ist, dass Gesundheit das Produkt der optimalen Funktion der Teile des Organismus ist. Im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts wurden Anstrengungen unternommen, diese Sichtweise zu überwinden, wie z.B. der anthropologische und psychosomatische Ansatz, der Arbeitshypothesen entwickelte, die die Vorstellung eines Menschen beinhalten, der als anthropologische, biologische, soziale, historische und psychologische Totalität agiert.
