La obra resultó ganadora del Premio Internacional de Poesía Gerardo Diego 2013, premio promovido por el Gobierno de Cantabria.
El bosque y la naturaleza se revelan como portadores de los deseos del poeta. Jaime Siles, que ha presidido el jurado del premio 'Gerardo Diego', definió el poemario firmado por Antonio Mayor como "minimalista", ponderando la utilización de un lenguaje "claro y directo" en la línea de la poesía centroeuropea, donde destaca la "economía lingüística". Para Siles, estamos ante un autor "maduro", en cuyo verso "breve" resalta el sentido del "ritmo", utilizando la aliteración de una manera "muy audaz".
