Las variedades de la referencia es, sin ninguna duda, una de las contribuciones más importantes a la filosofía del siglo xx y fuente de inspiración para parte de la filosofía de comienzos de nuestro siglo. En esta obra se conectan las teorías semánticas clásicas de Frege y Russell con la teoría causal de la referencia de Kripke y sus propias consideraciones sobre en qué consiste tener pensamientos sobre objetos. Algunas de sus ideas han sido consideradas como claros antecedentes de nociones actuales como la de contenido no conceptual. Abstract The Varieties of Reference is undoubtedly one of the most important contributions to the philosophy of the twentieth century, and it is a source of inspiration for part of the philosophy at the beginning of our century. In this book we find Frege’s and Russell’s classic semantical theories connected with Kripke’s causal theory of reference, together with Evans’s own considerations on what does it mean to have thoughts about objects. Some of Evans’s ideas have been recognized as clear forerunners of contemporary notions, such as that of non-conceptual content.
