Unter Bezugnahme auf die Neue Phänomenologie von Hermann Schmitz und auf der Grundlage eigener Konzerterfahrungen geht die Autorin erstmals dem Zusammenhang von Leib und Konzentration nach. Sie zeigt, dass Konzentration nicht blo eine gedankliche Selbstdisziplinierung ist, sondern primär das Gewahren der eigenen Gefühlswelt erfordert. Dabei gelingt ihr ein Brückenschlag zwischen Theorie und Praxis: zum einen leistet sie einen Beitrag zur Phänomenologie der Konzentration und zur Philosophie der Emotionen, zum anderen erschlie t sie professionellen Musikern und Musikpädagogen eine leibphänomenologische Zugangsweise zur musikalischen Praxis.
