Synopsis "Lifelines: An American Dream"

The Roaring Twenties are still ahead when West Virginia newlyweds and a farm boy from Italy uproot themselves to pursue the American dream. The Great Depression is barely past when their children meet in the melting pot of the wartime home front. Both families resist their marriage, and the demons which drive two matriarchs create an emotional perfect emotional that that spends itself only after three generations. The story is set against the backdrop of U.S. emergence as a world power, and the rise and fall of industrial America and its labor movement. It is a collection of intimate snapshots that bring to life a history fast fading from collective memory, as it explores the meaning of family and the credibility of fate. This work is the author's second book and first novel. His collection of short stories titled Laguna Tales is also available on Amazon.
