Synopsis "Living the Good Fight: A Mother'S Journey of Faith, Hope and aml Leukemia (0)"
What would you do if your life as you knew it changed overnight? Suddenly you went from being the poster child of perfect health to living a medical nightmare day after day for years. Would you hold steady in your faith? Or would you begin to question God's plan? My fight through Acute Myeloid Leukemia was not easy, there were days when my faith was tested more than I ever imagined it could be. I was blessed to have a loving family by my side throughout my entire journey. I discovered that my unexpected battle with cancer and the aftermath has shaped me into the mother, wife, and daughter I am today. A person that I could have only dreamed of becoming. I value each and every smile from my children, try to spread compassion and love around like sprinkles. Treat each and every day as a genuine gift from God. I experienced what it felt like to be at death's doorstep. It was extremely lonely and scary. No amount of money or power could change my predicament. I remember lying in my hospital bed at night praying to God with all my might. "God if I make it through this nightmare, I promise to love and cherish every second with my children. I will be patient and kind. I will cherish every breath I get to take on Earth." Well, I tried. I have come to realize I am far from being a perfect mom, wife, daughter and Christian. To this day I still make mistakes and say things I wish hadn't. I continue to fight and strive to be the very best version of me I can possibly be. I am sharing my story of overcoming horrible odds with the hopes of passing on encouragement, faith and love for our Almighty God. It was my Faith and God's Will that brought me through these past four years. I hope my story encourages you to never give up when you are faced with a personal battle. Whether it be a disease or illness, divorce, or layoff it is faith in God, laughter, and baking that will see you through. When you keep God at the top of your daily to do list, and you care for others, you will g Tracy Kearcher lives with her husband, daughter, son and dog Dexter, her one year old rescue in Ellington, Connecticut. She is very proud to say she is an AML Leukemia Warrior and Survivor. She is very active in her local Cathoic church, St. Lukes. Tracy loves to work with her hands whether it be in her kitchen or in her salon. She has been a hairdresser for over eighteen years. As she was battling through Leukemia she started to bake and decorate custom decorated sugar cookies.
