El fin del derecho es uno de los temas que en primer lugar deben llamar la atención de un Congreso de Filosofía Jurídica. ¿Pero el fin del derecho es el bien común, la justicia y la seguridad a la vez, o alguna de estas cosas si entre ellas existe oposición, o si, como se ha dicho varias veces, son entre ellas antinómicas? Yo creo, y espero poder demostrar, que la justicia y la seguridad, lejos de ser verdaderamente antinómicas, son más bien los dos elementos, las dos caras del bien común o del orden público que, bien comprendidas, tienen el mismo sentido, un poco como se dice indiferentemente libertades individuales o derechos públicos, según que uno se coloque en el punto de vista del individuo o de la sociedad, lo que otros también han llamado libertades necesarias o derechos fundamentales.LOUIS LE FUR
