Synopsis "Moon Year"
This exciting fantasy novel for young adults is set on the planet Nimbus, where the rain falls endlessly and there is no natural light. 'Moon year' occurs every 17 years when Nimbus becomes dimly lit, and is marked by a special ceremony. This ceremony is dangerous for the potchogs, the small indigenous creatures that have been enslaved by the human settlers. Cali, one of the young apprentices charged with guarding the potchogs, decides that she will save the ceremony potchog from his fate. This rebellious act will lead her into an adventure that takes her and the young prince of Nimbus into great danger. Gradually Nimbus's deeper secret is revealed and their lives are threatened as they are chased by evil General Cutler and then beset by natural predators that inhabit the planet. Will Cali and her young friends be able to reveal the truth to the people of Nimbus, and free the potchogs, before the General destroys them?
