Synopsis "Moving Up to Wheel Estate: Continuing Free Being RVing in a Gift from Gypsy Jane"

In 2017, after four years of RVing in a 21 foot motorhome, the author moved up to a slightly longer and more luxurious Dutchmen Dorado motorhome, an inherited gift from Gypsy Jane, that he named Wheel Estate. This book is all about how this took place starting at age 80 and the two years of RVing that followed this. Traveling from his home-base mobile home in Central California, he made a trip north to Ocean Park, Washington. This was followed by a number of trips to the desert Southwest. He journeyed into Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Most of his travels were on his own. A few times he joined the circuits of the Wandering Individuals Network (WIN), including attending their Dancing with the Gypsies Rally at the Fountain of Youth RV Resort in California near the Salton Sea. In 2019, he attended the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous in Quartzsite, Arizona. Thousands of people living in cars, vans, converted buses, and RVs gathered in the desert to learn about living on wheels and to meet other like-minded people. This book is much more than a travelogue. It is packed with how-to information and the philosophy of minimalism, simple and cheap living, and living life to the fullest. Almost all of the author's RVing is done without hookups. Advice based on years of experience is given for modifying and equipping your RV for boondocking. The book is illustrated with RV floor-plan drawings and 88 photographs taken by the author. The author also tells the story of how he teamed up with Gypsy Jane during the last four months of her life and published 12 books from her now discontinued website WANDERINGS, LIVING THE ORDINARY EXTRAORDINARILY that she had started in 2000 and over the years had gained thousands of followers.
