The writing's clear and easy to read, never sing-song, but with a pleasing rhythm and rhyme. And the pictures match each simple sentence, inviting laughter and fun. A gift that can't be painted is paired with a nursery where squeezed paint misses the picture and falls on teddy, floor and more. Interesting words like "hue" and "compass," are used to perfect intent and invite readers to learn more. A gift that is "patient like the desert that waits for rain," and "gentle like a cool summer breeze"; can you guess what it is? Can your child? I love this book, and it's perfect for Valentine's Day!
