Un padre tardío cuida de sus dos hijos pequeños y trata de comunicarse con ellos en la medida en que es posible. También se ocupa del día a día: trabajo y menesteres domésticos. Todo apunta a que la vida real es, en esencia, un anticlímax, si bien los niños aportan su delirio cotidiano para que no sea así. Esta novela de corte autobiográfico es un conjunto de pequeñas historias microscópicas que quizá constituyan algo diferente cuando se integran en un todo. El orden rutinario del presente y el caos de un pasado fragmentario se superponen. El fardo de los días se hace muy pesado, sobre todo si consideramos que estamos condenados a una cierta incomunicación y a la eterna repetición de lo mismo.
