As of December 31, 2004, proved reserves in the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf are estimated to be 18.96 billion barrels of oil and 178.4 trillion cubic feet of gas from 1,172 proved fields. This number includes 34 proved fields added during 2004 and 262 proved, expired, depleted fields. not included are the 58 unproved active fields.
