Con el titulo latino de Passio Mulieribus (enfermedades de las mujeres), queremos abarcar especialmente los problemas vinculados a la funcion reproductora femenina y a otros aspectos relacionados con la misma, durante la Edad Media. La obra se ha estructurado en cuatro apartados, con desigual extension. Primero nos ocupamos de la metodologia de trabajo y de los aspectos generales de la medicina medieval, centrandonos especialmente en el contenido relacionado con lo que hoy conocemos como obstetricia y ginecologia. Seguidamente, en la parte I, recopilamos las diferentes aportaciones hechas por los medicos de la epoca sobre la menstruacion y sus alteraciones. En la parte II recogemos los puntos de vista de los autores medievales sobre la pubertad, el semen, las relaciones sexuales, la concepcion, la anticoncepcion y la esterilidad. La parte III se dedica exclusivamente al embarazo y parto, a sus variantes y complicaciones y al puerperio subsiguiente. With the Latin title of Passio Mulieribus (diseases of women), we want to cover especially the problems related to the female reproductive function and other aspects related to it, during the Middle Ages. The work has been structured in four parts, with unequal extension. In the first, we deal with the work methodology and the general aspects of medieval medicine, focusing especially on the content related to what we know today as obstetrics and gynecology. In the second we collect the different contributions made by the doctors of the time on menstruation and its alterations. In the third we collect the views of medieval authors on puberty, semen, sexual intercourse, conception, contraception, and sterility. The fourth is dedicated exclusively to pregnancy and childbirth, its variants and complications and the subsequent puerperium.
