Pinus elliottii var. elliottii x Pinus caribaea var. hondurensis hat seit den neunziger Jahren in der Provinz Misiones an Bedeutung gewonnen, sowohl was das Wachstum als auch was die technologische Eignung betrifft. Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, die Variationen in der Lichtumgebung bei verschiedenen Durchforstungsschemata zu bewerten, die 3 Intensitäten mit 3 Eingriffshäufigkeiten kombinierten. Bewertet wurden Deckung, Gesamteinstrahlung, Blattflächenindex (LAI) und Bündelungsfaktor. Die von Macfarlane et al. vorgeschlagene Methode zur Schätzung des LAI aus Flachbildern wurde validiert. Die angewandte Ausdünnung hatte einen unterschiedlichen Einfluss auf die untersuchten Variablen zur Kronencharakterisierung. Der mit der von Macfarlane et al. vorgeschlagenen Methode ermittelte IAF wies ähnliche Werte auf wie der allometrische Wert.
