Synopsis "Polymer Impregnated Nanoceramic Coatings On Al Metal"
Chapter I present the introduction of the thesis. This chapter briefs about corrosion and its preventive methods using conductive polymer coatings and superhydrophobic coatings. This chapter also gives introduction about defluoridation by various adsorbents. This chapter also summarizes the relevant review of literature along with scope and objectives of the study. This chapter II deals with formation of protective ceramic-PANI, ceramic-poly(Ani-co-oPD) and ceramic-poly(Ani-co-oPD)-zinc stearate nanocomposite coatings on Al surface by the processes involving anodization, electropolymerisation and electrodeposition under optimum conditions. The prepared nanocomposite coatings were evaluated by ATR-IR and XRD studies. SEM studies performed on nanocomposite coatings reveal that ceramic-poly(Ani-co-oPD)-zinc stearate nanocomposite coating shows a cauliflower-like cluster with crack-free morphology compared to ceramic-PANI and ceramic-poly(Ani-co-oPD) nanocomposite coatings.
