Slugfest Magazine is set to release its first issue on March 15, 2019. The magazine is owned by LaTavia Roberson who is best known as an original member of the R&B group Destiny's Child, one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. The launch of Slugfest magazine brings you stories -uncensored with interviews conduct by LaTavia from the heart of Texas. This first issue's cover story is about World Champion Roy Jones Jr. This issue also covers world champion fighters Troy Dorsey, Gene "Mad God" Hatcher, and Pauli Ayala from the Dallas, Fort Worth Area. The stories cover the heart of their careers, as well as, their life from both in and out of the ring. LaTavia also created a section called "Low Blows" that features Eight Time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. Low Blows covers the hardships of Ronnie's career as the world's best body builder. Ronnie has had over fourteen surgeries due to the heavy lifting. Dr. Matt Bucur who is a pharmacist and an IFBB Professional athlete in Men's Physique is a contributing writer along with Philip H. Anselmo (best known as the lead singer of the heavy metal groups Pantera and Down). The magazine also covers underground gyms from around the world. This issue covers Uppercutz Gym from New Orleans, LA owned and operated by Darrick Stewart.
