Synopsis "Teach Yourself the Mann Language"
A language can be affected negatively by war, genocide, politics, famine, and other social factors if steps are not taken to eschew them. Not much has been cataloged insofar as the writing of the Mann language is concerned. The development of its scripts by the Inland Mission for the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been a major step in teaching and writing the Mann language in Liberia. Since the development of its scripts, not much energy has been exerted by ordinary speakers of the language to take advantage of this unadulterated opportunity. Thus, this book, TEACH YOURSELF THE MANN LANGUAGE serves as an eye-opener to encouraging anyone, including the speakers of the language as well as non-speakers, who are interested in learning the Mann Language. Its scope considers the culture and tradition, its lineage, its sisterly relationship with the Kpelleh language, and some specific features of the Republic of Liberia. It is expected to accelerate the teaching of the language even beyond the Sunday school setting. Readers will experience the fascinating conglomeration of lessons on tradition, culture, sports, faith, and mundane way of life. TEACH YOURSELF THE MANN LANGUAGE is written in a Teach-Yourself format. It is highly interactive. It is a book meant for even beginners, including basic grammatical rules and orthography identifiable with the Mann Language to make learning easier for users.
