The storm of the century in Peculiar had just ended, leaving the town covered in a blanket of deep snow. Xander Gale is heading out for a school skiing trip in his senior year. He comes from a long family line of magical individuals called specials. His almost three-year-old sister even has powers that he could only imagine having, as he has not matured into his as of yet. Until tonight. With these new powers come many new issues for Xander. There is also a creature from the distant past that is hunting him. A portal to another and deadlier realm is trying to break through to this Earthly realm through his basement. His best friend has been lying to him, and the girl he likes has a few surprises of her own.
