Synopsis "The Second Coming"
War and "The Second Coming" have erupted in Nis. The hammers of the Orange Light led by Kai Aphas, a former prisoner of Nis, have rained down upon the Tribe of Shadows intent on exterminating everyone beneath the surface. Secretly, Virgil, a Hy-mun from the surface, and Dan-te, an emissary from the Remnant of the Tribe have followed the Hammers back to Nis to stop Tanas's Third Great Attempt before it destroys them all. Meanwhile, Reye and Ann, two more Hy-mun prisoners in Nis, begin their own plans amidst the chaos to stop the Third Great Attempt and free their friend Stella who is still a prisoner in Nis. Elsewhere, the Tribesman makes his own suicidal play to stop the Third Great Attempt while a new ally seeks to rescue the others while Tanas, hidden safely away from the conflict, prepares to detonate the supervolcano and trigger the Third Great Attempt. Paths will converge, goals will be met, and journeys completed in the explosive conclusion to the trilogy that began with "The City of Nis" and continued with "Reunions, Reflections, and Reconciliations."
