Synopsis "Tibu and Tovaira Defy The Rising Sun"

It is late 1941 and the Japanese are spreading rapidly through S.E. Asia and the Pacific. Rabaul on the Gazelle Peninsular is a tiny Australian outpost slap bang in the path of the invasion force. Japanese Spies, Kempai Tai Captain Tanaka, assisted by mixed race Australian, Japanese administration clerk Wilson, are working undercover in Rabaul getting advance information. Things move very quickly for thirteen year old Australian Johnny, and his lifelong friend, fourteen year old local boy Tibu, as they get stranded behind enemy lines. With the help of the village Sorcerer Tomarum, Johnny changes his appearance and name to Tovaira, and passes himself off as a local boy. The boys break Johnny's father out of prison camp, after he was captured during the invasion, then get him to a Coast watcher, to be picked up by an American Submarine. Crack Sniper shot Tibu, with Sten gun wielding Johnny, then embark on a campaign to harass the Japanese, all the while living in full sight of...
