Synopsis "Training Needs of Heads of Department Towards Curriculum Effectivity"

Competencies of the HoDs were examined along three main areas as in: The departmental management and coordination; human management and teaching subject of specialization. The study established discrepancies in the expected level of practice and the actual level of competency practice hence the discrepancies between what is practiced on the ground and what is expected amounting training needs of the HoDs, that should be met in order to enable them discharge their duties and competencies appropriately. Chapter one deals with introduction to the study chapter two deals with review of empirical literature of relevance to the study in question. Findings revealed gaps in 'what is' and 'what should be' in the competency practices of the H.o.Ds, hence the training needs.
