Synopsis "Un cuento chino (in Spanish)"

Keith Stapperpfenning, protagonista de Un cuento chino, lleva diez días escondido debajo de su escritorio. Sus hermanos lo han designado para que acompañe al abuelo en un viaje a China, destino elegido por el anciano para celebrar su ochenta cumpleaños. Keith no está de acuerdo con la elección del viejo pero tampoco logra convencerle para cambiar de destino; al fin, tras pulirse una importante suma de dinero que ha recibido de sus hermanos para realizar el viaje, Keith desaparece y deja que el anciano se las arregle solo. Pero el azar descabala sus planes: un internista le llama por teléfono desde las montañas del Westerwald para que vaya a reconocer el cadáver de su abuelo.
