El 19 de septiembre de 2017, un seísmo de magnitud 7,1 provoca varios derrumbes en la Ciudad de México, exactamente el día del 32 aniversario del catastrófico terremoto de 1985. Tiembla la tierra, los edificios caen y la gente inunda las calles. En la colonia Obrera se derrumba una fábrica, y el polvo que levanta atraviesa décadas, irrita la memoria, aflora historias enterradas que quedaron sin resolver. 'Voces de Chimalpopoca', primera obra de Shu Otero, reflexiona sobre cómo habitar un territorio y lo que llamamos “desastres naturales”, e indaga en la construcción de la memoria colectiva y en las diversas formas de sobrevivir y resistir en un estado de emergencia cuando se interrumpe el flujo de lo cotidiano y afloran los conflictos.
