However, when 'lockdown' was announced, their disparate worlds came crashing together as they were forced to spend their days and nights with only each other for company. This hilarious and tender collection of Ray's disastrous attempts to learn to cook, amongst other new skills and exploits, is heart warming and pure comedy gold. Learn how not to make hollandaise sauce, how not to win the Turner prize or indeed how not to do home haircuts. Publishing them on Facebook for his friends and loved-ones to read, the stories gained in popularity. One day, a friend suggested he turn them into a blog, but this proved to be more complicated than someone like him - in his mid seventies - could manage.
