Felipe Pigna was born in Mercedes, Buenos Aires Province, in 1959. He is a History professor graduated from the National Teaching Institute Joaquín V. González; director of the “Ver la Historia” project at the University of Buenos Aires, which has led to the film documentary 200 years of Argentine History; professor at the University of Lomas de Zamora and director of the History Dissemination Center at the University of San Martín. He is a columnist for Radio Mitre and Rock & Pop; co-host, along with Mario Pergolini, and scriptwriter of the series Algo habrán hecho, broadcasted by Canal 13, which won the Martín Fierro 2006 award for best cultural program and the Clarín award for Best Journalistic Program. He is the host of Lo pasado pensado on FM Rock & Pop and of the historical documentaries under the same name broadcasted by Canal 7. He has published El mundo contemporáneo (1999), La Argentina contemporánea (2000), Pasado en presente (2001), Historia confidencial (2003), Los mitos de la historia argentina (2004) and Los mitos de la historia argentina 2 (2005), two of the best-selling books in Argentina in recent times, Lo pasado pensado (2006), Los mitos de la historia argentina 3 (2006), Evita (2007), Los mitos de la historia argentina 4 (2008) and 25 de Mayo, from the collection Historias de nuestra historia (2009). He is a consultant for Latin America for The History Channel and director of the magazine Caras y Caretas, and of www.elhistoriador.com.ar, the most visited history site in Argentina.
