He graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, where he received the Leonard G. Rowntree Research Award.

Among his most notable works is "Grain Brain" (2013), where he explores the relationship between carbohydrate consumption and brain health. Other notable titles include "Brain Maker" (2015) and "The Grain Brain Whole Life Plan" (2016), all focused on neurological health and wellness.
