Carla Arce-Tord is a Peruvian astrophysicist known for her work in scientific research and the dissemination of astronomical knowledge. Graduated in Physics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, she obtained a master's degree in Astrophysics and Astronomical Instrumentation in Spain and completed a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Chile. Her work focuses on the formation of stars and planets, using data from telescopes like ALMA and VLA. In 2014, she was awarded the "Young Scientist Award" by the International Union of Radio Science for her outstanding research in radio astronomy.

In addition to her scientific career, Arce-Tord is an active science communicator under the pseudonym @astrocarlaa on social networks like Instagram and TikTok, where she shares accessible information about astronomy and science in general. Her approach aims to inspire young people, especially women, to take an interest in the sciences of the universe. She has participated in events such as the Lima International Book Fair and technology conferences, establishing herself as an influential figure in the promotion of science in Latin America.
