David D. Burns is a Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Stanford University School of Medicine and has been a professor at Harvard Medical School. Burns graduated in 1964 from Amherst College in Massachusetts and later earned his doctorate in psychiatry from the Stanford University School of Medicine. Burns is the author of numerous books, including Feeling Good, published in 1980, of which more than 4.5 million copies have been printed worldwide and is still being reprinted in over 20 countries. Currently, Burns lives with his family in California, from where he continues to offer courses for psychiatry professionals throughout the United States and Canada.
