Synopsis "Paint (in Spanish)"

Los padres tienen cientos de expectativas para sus hijos, pero ¿alguna vez les hemos preguntado a ellos cómo serían sus padres ideales? En un futuro cercano, el índice de natalidad es cada vez más bajo. Para incentivar los nuevos nacimientos, el estado crea un centro de crianza para niños cuyos padres no quieren asumir su paternidad. Allí los educan y crecen. Cuando cumplen trece años los chicos pueden elegir a sus nuevos padres después de entrevistar a los candidatos. El protagonista, Janu 301, es un chico maduro y reflexivo de dieciséis años criado en el Centro NC establecido por el estado. Como todos los chicos del centro, tiene derecho a entrevistar y elegir entre los futuros padres que visitan la institución con el fin de adoptar. Desde que cumplió doce años, Janu 301 ha estado entrevistándose con padres candidatos año tras año.

Lee Hee-Young began her writing career after winning the first Kim Seungok Literary Prize for new writers in 2013 for her story «People Are Living». The following year, she was awarded the May 18 Literary Prize for Narrative. Her first novel, Summer Summer Vacation, was published in 2017. She then won two major awards in 2018: the 12th Changbi Youth Literature Prize (for Paint) and the 1st Brit G Romance Thriller Prize (for Who Are You?). She has recently published Ordinary Sunset (2021) and Me, Me (2022)
