Desde el centro de Europa. Fotografía checa, 1912-1974, presenta una historia de más de sesenta años: la de la fotografía artística de la actual Chequia, uno de los países de la Mitteleuropa donde florecieron con especial intensidad tanto la vanguardia fotográfica de los años veinte y treinta como la fotografía del surrealismo y el informalismo.
Las obras proceden en su totalidad de la Colección Dietmar Siegert (Múnich), una colección que por su especialización y por la calidad individual de las obras de su fondo fotográfico permite contar esa historia, muy desconocida, combinando la visión de conjunto con la atención a la subjetividad de cada fotógrafo.
