Synopsis "My Shadow"

From the author of Treasure Island and Kidnapped comes a full-color children's picture book that will become a cherished friend to boys and girls, and mothers and fathers. Inside, outside, climbing up the stairs, or jumping into bed, your shadow may be following you! He may even be one step ahead as you run down the street! Complete with a cast of the whole family, a cat, a dog, and a teddy, this story is for everyone. Little ones who are just discovering their shadows for the first time will find inspiration between these pages, while older, more experienced kids are sure to learn new ways to play with their shadows. Get ready to laugh and giggle and then find the nearest light source and try out some shadows of your own! Sara Sanchez has created soft and inviting illustrations to creatively interpret Robert Louis Stevenson's original lines from the poem "My Shadow," which was originally published in his classic for children, A Child's Garden of Verses. Sanchez's pictures are filled with humor and help propel this timeless poem into the twenty-first century. My Shadow is sure to become a bedtime favorite for the whole family.

(Edinburgh, 1850 - Samoa, 1894) British novelist, short story writer, poet, and essayist. He entered the University of Edinburgh at the age of sixteen to follow in his father's footsteps and become a lighthouse engineer, a career he would later abandon. His nautical studies allowed him to come into contact with seafaring people and customs, key ingredients in some of his most famous works. His renowned work, Treasure Island, was published under the pseudonym Captain George North in 1881. In 1886, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, one of the great classics of literature, was released. He died on the island of Samoa, at his home, Vailima.

Hello! I'm Sara, an illustrator from Valladolid who lives and works in Barcelona. Two very different environments that are the basis of everything that inspires me today: the colors and sounds of nature, the beauty of plants and animals, the small details of everyday life, the ancient objects full of history and stories...

Stories that I love to capture with colored pencils, watercolor, graphite... and in recent years digital techniques, which have been added to my list of essential materials. I am also a lover of sketchbooks that accompany me on my travels and excursions and give me that freedom and creative spontaneity so necessary.

I studied Illustration at the School of Art in Valladolid and continue to train with courses and workshops related to the illustrated album and illustration. Also, since I opened my virtual store where I sell my illustrations and illustrated objects, courses and training focused on online marketing have become essential.

Interior decoration and setting in its most artisanal form, mural painting, and portrait are fields in which I have moved, very different from each other, but which have provided me with other perspectives as an artist. Various individual and collective exhibitions and participation in competitions have gradually completed my path. I am also part of the Illustration Collective Ilustraquorum in Barcelona.
