Angélica Gorodischer is a storyteller. She wrote numerous books, among which are Mango Juice (1988), The Night of the Innocent (1996), How to Succeed in Life (1998), Mint (2000), Imperial Kalpa (2001), Everywhere (2003), Story of My Mother (2004), Jaguar's Tomb (2005), The Darkroom (2009) and Corkscrew (2011). She received, among others, the Konex Platinum Award, Emecé (for her novel Alabaster Vases, Bokhara Carpets, published in 1985), Más Allá, Esteban Echeverría and Dignity, awarded by the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights for her work in favor of women's rights. In 2011, in the United States, she was awarded the World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement. Her stories are featured in anthologies in the country and abroad. She has been translated into German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Czech, and Portuguese.
