Adela Basch (Buenos Aires, November 23, 1946) is a renowned Argentine writer, playwright, poet, and translator, specializing in children's and youth literature. After graduating in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, she began her career as a translator and teacher, but soon turned to writing and theater. Among her most notable works are Oiga, chamigo aguará, El planeta de los aljenfios, Abran cancha, que aquí viene Don Quijote de la Mancha, and ¡Que sea la Odisea!, all celebrated for their creativity, humor, and ability to bring literature closer to children and young people. She has received awards such as the Argentores and the distinguished ALIJA, and her contribution to promoting reading led her to coordinate workshops and direct editorial collections. Founder of Ediciones Abran Cancha, Basch has built an extensive literary career that has positioned her as an indispensable reference in the genre in the Hispanic American context.
