Christopher McDougall is an American journalist and author, known for his bestseller Born to Run (2009), where he explores human endurance through the Tarahumara tribe of Mexico. A Harvard graduate and former war correspondent for Associated Press, McDougall has written for Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, and Men’s Health.
His work includes Natural Born Heroes (2015), which investigates human strength and endurance during World War II, and Running with Sherman (2019), a story about rehabilitating a donkey to compete in mountain races. In 2022, he co-wrote Born to Run 2: The Ultimate Training Guide, a practical guide for runners. McDougall lives in Pennsylvania, where he continues to explore the limits of human potential through writing and physical activity.
