Un día lluvioso y deprimente de primavera, cuatro mujeres coinciden en una clínica de Madrid. Alicia es joven, bastante pardilla y se ha quedado sin amigos. Sonia es prostituta, malhablada y hace tiempo que dejó de confiar en el género humano. Lola es una intelectual indignada contra el mundo y con un estricto concepto de la sororidad. Y Begoña, resignada mujer de la limpieza y madre de familia, ha cometido el mayor error de su vida.
