G ONZALO ROJAS (Chile, 1917) pertenece a la dinastía de los más intensos poetas en lengua española y su obra parca y rigurosa discurre incesante desde 1938. Ha merecido el reconocimiento de los lectores más exigentes y algunas distinciones internacionales, otorgadas en cada caso por primera vez: Premio Reina Sofía de Poesía Iberoamericana (Madrid, 1992), Premio José Hernández - autor de Martín Fierro- (Buenos Aires, 1997) y Premio Octavio Paz de Poesía y Ensayo (México, 1998). También obtuvo en 1992 el Premio Nacional de Literatura en su país natal y fianlmente el Premio Cervantes en el año 2003.
