Estudió su secundaria en el Ōita Prefectural Hitarinkou High School y posteriormente asisitó al programa de diseño de manga de la Kyushu Designer Gakuin. En 2006 recibió un premio en el Magazine Grand Prix de la editorial Kōdansha por Ataque a los titanes. En 2011, el manga ganó el premio Kōdansha Manga Shō de 2011 en la categoría mejor shōnen. Ataque a los titanes se convirtió en una de las series de manga más vendidas de todos los tiempos con 110 millones de copias.

Llegó en el tiempo establecido y en buenas condiciones. El libro es hermoso, MUY grande y las hojas son de un excelente material. Lo único para criticar de estas ediciones colosales es que tienen tapa blanda, sería mucho más práctico que para un libro de estas dimensiones la tapa fuera dura. Excelente compra, seguiré comprando los siguientes.
