Escritor, director de cine, dibujante y pintor. Autor del género de horror y fantasía. Estudió Inglés y Filosofía en la Universidad de Liverpool. Es uno de los más aclamados en su área. Es conocido por la serie de relatos de "Libro de sangre" y sus adaptaciones cinematográficas (Hellraiser y Razas de noche). Tiene también numerosas adaptaciones de su obra al cómic.
