La forma misma del libro, próxima a la cinematográfica, exigía «una fácil y gran ilustración fotográfica»; por ello, incorporó la reproducción de fotografías de la prensa francesa de la época —L’Illustration, Match— y los sobrecogedores grabados de Josep Bartolí.
