Se establece el «11-S» como una fecha y un hito de trascendencia no solo global, por los atentados cometidos en Estados Unidos y el inicio de una «guerra en contra del terrorismo», sino también por su significado regional latinoamericano y, en especial, sudamericano. Es posible hablar de un antes y un después del «11-S».
