Ren ha perdido una mano en un accidente que no puede recordar, y a pesar de eso ha aprendido a robar muy bien. Vive desde hace tiempo en un sombrio orfanato, donde de vez en cuando los muchachos son puestos en fila para que los elijan aquellos que quieren un hijo, o mano de obra barata, o algunas cosas mas siniestras. Claro que, en el caso de Ren, quien va a querer a un chico demasiado crecido para hijo, muy pequeno para trabajador, y ademas manco? Hasta que un dia aparece Benjamin Nab, que dice ser el hermano mayor de Ren y convence a los curas para que se lo entregue. Y Ren aprendera muy pronto que un nino listo y minusvalido, que puede distraer a sus futuras victimas, es una valiosa propiedad para un estafador. / Ren has lost a hand in an accident he cannot remember, and has lived in a gloomy orphanage for many years, where every now and then the boys are lined up in order to be chosen by those who want a child, cheap labour, or for even more sinister purposes. But who is going to want a boy far too old to be a son, far too small to be a worker, and furthermore, who is one handed? This is until Benjamin Nab turns up, claiming to be Rens older brother and convinces the priests to hand him over. Ren learns very quickly that a smart and disabled child that is capable of distracting his future victims is a valuable asset for a fraudster.
