esta es la historia del indio llamado jerónimo. se llamaba goyahkla y vivía salvaje y libre en la tierra de sus antepasados. un día, su familia fue masacrada por el hombre blanco. goyahkla perdió a los suyos: su madre, su compañera, sus hijos. el dolor fue inmenso. dejó de comer, dejó de hablar. ¿quién puede superar una situación semejante? urdió la venganza. fue el 30 de septiembre de 1851, día de san jerónimo. con mucho respeto, patrick mosconi relata en este libro la última y trágica epopeya de la nación apache: los combates llevados con energía y desesperación contra los casacas azules, los acuerdos firmados... las traiciones. el gobierno de los estados unidos les prometió una paz honrosa y unas tierras en florida. la realidad en cambio, como lo explica mosconi, fue otra. deportados a alabama y más tarde a oklahoma, los apaches fueron condenados a la prisión de por vida.
