His life passes by under an extreme order; he does not leave anything to chance, and has the compulsive habit of writing down all his intimate reflections and secrets on small pieces of paper. This bitingly funny novel was a piercing critique on the author's part of a government suspicious of even the slightest hint of freedom of expression.
