EL CINEMATÓGRAFO: ARTÍCULOS SOBRE CINEY GUIONES DE PELÍCULAS, de Azorín. está compuesto por artículos dispersos o desconocidos que aparecieron en su día en "La prensa", de Buenos Aires, en ABC, de Madrid y en la revista Primer Plano. Algunos de éstos se incorporaron a EL EFÍMERO CINE (1955). Somos conscientes de que existe una laguna en la selección, un "olvido intencionado": su libro EL CINE Y EL MOMENTO (1953), del que varios capítulos se convirtieron posteriormente en artículos de prensa. Al ser este texto aún accesible por el lector, no se ha considerado necesario incluirlo. Esta compilación, junto con EL CINE Y EL MOMENTO, forma un corpus monográfico sobre Azorín-cine, que permite dar Una visión exacta de qué representó este fenómeno para un intelectual preocupado por el mundo socIal y cultural que le rodeaba.
