El viernes 2 de septiembre de 2011 se precipitó al mar el avión de la Fach cuyo nombre de combate era Pegaso. Los veintiún pasajeros que iban en el vuelo llevaban ayuda a la isla para colaborar en las tareas de reconstrucción luego del terremoto y tsunami de 2010. Todos murieron.
