Goethe nos habla de estas dos caras del mar en sus famosos poemas breves. Poeta, novelista, dramaturgo, científico y político alemán. En la Universidad de Estrasburgo conoció a Herder, quien lo introdujo a las obras de Shakespeare y a quien ayudó después a crear el movimiento romántico alemán Sturm und Drang. En 1775 Carlos Augusto, heredero del ducado de Sajonia-Weimar, invitó a Goethe a vivir y trabajar en Weimar, que entonces era uno de los centros intelectuales y literarios de Alemania. Allí desarrolló una brillante carrera política que finalmente abandonó para dedicarse a viajar y a escribir. Es uno de mayores exponentes literarios del Romanticismo y para muchos el escritor más importante que han dado las letras alemanas.

Me encantó ese libro, fue un espejo de mis estados de ánimo. Ya hace tiempo lo vi en un semninario que dio Daniel Menéndez Vigil.
